StorageTek,
the tape automation pioneer, introduces the StreamLine™
modular library system. This next generation series of
automated tape libraries will be available in Spring
2004. The StreamLine™ SL8500 modular library system is
the first offering in the StreamLine™ series. Designed
with direct feedback from our high-end enterprise
customers, it will scale from 1,500 to over 200,000
cartridges making it the largest MVS and Open Systems
library available in the storage market. The SL8500
library will provide superior reliability, availability
and serviceability along with unmatched performance
through redundancy, hot-swap components and multiple
robots. The SL8500 library will attach into mainframe,
supercomputer, UNIX and Windows environments, supporting
a variety of enterprise tape drive technologies. The
SL8500 library supports high-performance StorageTek
T9840 and T9940 tape drives as well as mid-range
products from Quantum (SDLT) and HP, IBM and Certance (LTO).
It will also support future technologies (NGD) from
StorageTek. |
