StorageNet 3250 Fibre Channel router

The StorageNet® 3250 Fibre Channel router seamlessly connects SCSI-interfaced hosts and devices to Fibre Channel-based storage area networks (SANs). It has a single one-gigabit Fibre Channel port to connect to point-to-point, arbitrated loop or switched fabric topologies, and two SCSI ports available in either High Voltage Differential (HVD) SCSI or Low Voltage Differential/Single ended (LVD/SE) models.

Spec Summary

Number of ports: 1 FC, 2 SCSI

Total aggregate throughput : 90 MB/sec maximum sustained

Fibre Channel port speed: 1 Gb per second

Applications
Backup and restore
StorageNet routers play a key role in efficiently integrating SCSI devices into backup and restore storage area networks (SANs).
Disaster recovery
StrorageNet routers play a critical role in integrating SCSI devices into complete disaster recovery systems, including SANs for remote data vaulting and backup and restore functions.

Benefits
Non-disruptive operation
Operation is transparent to the attached SCSI server or device.
Expansive
Supports up to 15 SCSI-2 devices per SCSI bus.
Investment protection
This low-cost, high-speed unit protects your SCSI investment by making SCSI-connected servers or devices available on a Fibre Channel network.

Features
Standard features:
Target mode
Enables hosts with SCSI interfaces to connect to and communicate with Fibre Channel or SCSI devices.
Third party copy
Will execute third party copy (server-less backup) from vendor software applications.
Extension mode
Allows configurations with SCSI hosts and SCSI devices to operate over the extended distances provided by Fibre Channel.
Initiator mode
Operates a wide range of SCSI devices, driven by SCSI-attached or Fibre Channel-attached hosts.
