Brocade Silkworm 3200 fabric switch |
The
Brocade® SilkWorm® 3200 fabric switch delivers eight
ports of one gigabit per second and two gigabit per
second auto-sensing entry fabric connectivity in a
single chassis. Designed for low-cost flexibility, the
SilkWorm 3200 switch increases performance and
functionality for small-to-medium-sized SANs. |

Applications |
Disk
mirroring
Disk SANs employing Brocade SilkWorm switches can be
implemented to improve the manageability of local
and remote mirroring systems, keeping online data
better protected and more available.
|
Storage
consolidation
By consolidating storage with a SAN using Brocade
SilkWorm switches, you can better manage and protect
all of your business critical information.
|
Disaster
recovery
Brocade SilkWorm switches play a critical role in
complete disaster recovery systems, including SANs
for clustering/fail-over, remote data vaulting and
backup and restore functions. |
Backup
and restore
Brocade SilkWorm switches are at the center of
storage area networks (SANs) used to enable backup
and restore to be shared across several
applications, reducing costs and simplifying
management. |
|
|
Benefits |
High
performance
The SilkWorm 3200 switch provides excellent
price/performance value. All ports are capable of
operating at one and two gigabits per second,
enabling switch throughput of 32 gigabits per
second. |
Simplified SAN deployment
The SilkWorm 3200 switch simplifies SAN deployment
and administration through embedded Brocade® WEB
TOOLS management software. |
High
availability
The SilkWorm 3200 switch provides a SAN fabric
capable of delivering overall system availability
greater than 99.999 percent. |
Flexibility
The SilkWorm 3200 switch supports multiple levels of
availability and scalability including the option
for full-fabric or entry-fabric operation. |
Investment protection
The SilkWorm 3200 switch provides a seamless upgrade
path along with backward and forward compatibility
with other SilkWorm switches. |
|
|
Features |
Brocade
Advanced Zoning
Logically groups the SAN fabric into an unlimited
number of secure, private zones so that devices
access only their authorized storage resources. |
Brocade
Inter-Switch Link (ISL) Trunking
Supports high-speed traffic by combining up to four
ISLs between a pair of switches into a single,
logical high-speed trunk running at up to 8 gigabits
per second. |
Intelligent Fabric Services Architecture
Brocade incorporates intelligence directly into the
switch fabric—creating a highly available, scalable,
and secure environment for storage applications. |
