StorageTek® Application Storage Manager® software is designed for large organizations with massive and fast-growing storage needs. ASM software utilizes policy-based management practices to manage data and retrieval across a hierarchy of storage systems in a multi-tiered strategy. It provides performance and capacity while concurrently managing growth and access requirements. This suite of products runs on Solaris, Windows NT/2000 and IBM OS/390 operating systems.

ASM software provides scalability so data storage can be increased at low cost. Archive images are separated from archival data to optimize performance. Provides a simple system to make copies of archived data.
Data protection
A variety of applications help to protect data: ASM software shrinks back-up windows; populates all tiers of storage concurrently and expires the data; copies of the data are distributed electronically through disk-to-disk replication and client/server copy management.
